Havana Howlers Rugby 7's - December 1 and 2, 2012

We are now taking entry applications for the 3rd anual Havana Howlers 7's - December 1 and 2, 2012. This tournament IRB sanctioned tournament  is jointly organized by the Cuban rugby community (chaired by Chukin Chao) and the Dog River Howlers Rugby Club based out of Canada.

Because of only having one pitch available the tournament will be limited to a total of 16 teams including men and women.

Here are the particulars:

When: Saturday December 1 and Sunday December 2, 2012
Where: Havana, Cuba
Who: Men's and Women's division
Cost: $800 US per team. This covers a $250 fee we pay to the Cuban government for the use of the facilities, tournament awards and the wind up awards dinner (including all drinks) at one of Havana's top restaurants.Your hotels range anywhere from about $35 to $65 US per night with breakfast. We have a local English speaking travel agent who will arrange everything for you including accommodations, internal travel and any add on Cuban travel you may want to do.

There are also 2 tournaments on either side of this one that may may choose to incorporate on your tour. The Cancun 7's (Mexico) is the wekend before and the Tobago 7's is the weekend after our tournament. I can give you the contact information for these 2 tournaments upon request. Both have men's and women's divisions.

Havana along with all of Cuba is a fascinating place . Safe, great weather, amazing beaches, world class music everywhere, interesting history, dirt cheap rum and cigars, friendly people along with  a welcoming and passionate rugby community. 

From the web pages below you can see that there have been some top level teams (including numerous national teams) from Canada, USA, Mexico, Germany, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago and of course Cuba competing in this tournament.
