Number Of Total Registered Female Rugby Players (as stated on IRB web page):

England - 562,126 (senior 24,933). They have an 8 team 'Women's Premiership' competition (Bristol, Darlington, Lichfield, Richmond, Saracens, Thurrock, Wasps and Worcester) where their countries top female players along with some top international players from around the world play in a 14 game season. 

Canada - 30,326 (senior 3,689). They have a 'National Women's League' made up of the top 4 provincial women's teams ( Equipe Quebec, Ontario, BC and Alberta) playing in a 3 game season.
