19 provincial and national sides (thirteen U16 boys and six U17 girls) from 6 countries (Germany, France, Israel, Monaco , Holland and Canada) competed in this tournament. Our U16 boys had a record of 3 and 3 which placed them #7 while the 2 girls teams had a combined record of 4 wins and 6 losses placing them #4 and #5 in their division. Good results considering that our 3 sides who come from across Canada trained together a total of 5 hours while almost all teams we competed against were high level academies/select sides that trained together as often as 4 times per week some having professional paid coaching staffs.

We also had along some 25 parents, grandparents , brothers, sisters and aunts as supporters. That was more than the other 16  teams combined.

Besides playing rugby we took a Neckar River cruise along with a Heidelberg city and castle tour. Overall everyone agreed it was a fantastic experience for all involved.

The top 2 teams in in the U-16 boys division were 2 French provincial academies (Toulon and French Pyrenees ).  The Girls U17 division was won by a German provincial side - Nord West Rheinfallen (which  the one Howlers side beat  in the last game of the tournament).

It was an excellently organized tournament with some high level competition and good refereeing to go along with it.

Thanks to Peter Bews and his tournament committee along with Claus Peter Bach who did so much to help us out.
