The Howlers women 7's program since their inception in 2011 with some 50 different players (see list below) have entered in 9 tournaments in 5 countries and winning 5 of them.
Further to this we would like to invite all provincial unions to put forward any names of players (along with an attached rugby cv) that they would want considered for selection. Please forward these names to our U-20 women's coach Jocelyn ([email protected]) and myself ([email protected]) .
Jocelyn in turn will be attending the national U-20 tournament at the end of June and then along with the input of Canadian U-20 women's coach Sandro Fiorini and Maria Samson team invites will be sent out.

2013 Havana Howlers Tournament Itinerary And Information

Thursday Nov. 21- arrive in Varadero at 1:25 pm and bus (100 miles) to out hotel in Havana arriving at about 4:30 pm. Team meeting and supper.
Friday Nov. 22 - Morning and afternoon training. In between lunch and the orphanage visit. Evening team meal.
Saturday Nov. 23- Tournament
Sunday November 24 - Tournament. Evening is the tournament awards and banquet.
Monday November 25 - Havana city tour in the morning and free afternoon. Team meal and tournament court session
Tuesday November 26 - Fly home
Tour Cost - $550 per person plus everyone books and pays for their own flights

This includes 5 nights hotel( 4* with pool) with breakfast , all Cuban transport, free drinks at the Monday court session, city tour and tournament banquet (includes free drinks).
All players book and pay fo their own West Jet flights . Ideally we would all at least like to fly down there together meaning everyone connects to the morning Westjet flight from Toronto to Varadaro. As there are no flights home on Monday the earliest flight from Varadero back to Toronto and all the connecting flights is on the Tuesday.
The new Howlers will also have to pay an additional $175 for their Howlers playing kit, warm up shirt, and bowling shirt .

WHAT IS IT - It is an IRB sanctioned 7's tournament started in 2011 with a men and women's divisions. It organized jointly by the Cuban Rugby Federation and the Dog River Howlers Rugby Club from Canada .
WHO COMES - Over the years we had have national men's and women's teams from Cuba, Venezuela, Peru, Cayman Islands and Mexico along with select sides from Canada, USA, Germany, USA and Trinidad and Tobago. The tournament is limited to 12 men's teams and 6 women's teams.
