Through their Volunteer Improvement Program (VIP), Imperial Oil has donated $500 to the Dog River Howlers as part of the 2012 campaign. This donation was spearheaded by Howlers player and board member Maria Samson (née Jaworski) in recognition of her countless volunteer hours spent organizing the Howlers women’s side and contributing to the club as a whole. Imperial Oil created this program to encourage and support the community volunteer efforts of their employees, annuitants and spouses. Under the VIP, employees, annuitants and their spouses can apply for grants for charitable and non-profit organizations for which they volunteer services. They currently distribute about $300,000 each year through the program. The Howlers are honoured to be recognized by Imperial Oil as a Volunteer Improvement Program recipient.
