The Howlers sent out a questionnaire to all 28 (12 women and 16 men ) U-18 players touring Colombia. All 28 replied and their questionnaires are posted on this facebook page . One of the questions was - " MY Favourite Rugby Team(s)"
From the ladies 10 out of 11 (one did not answer that question) mentioned Canada as one of their favourite teams. The men on the other hand only had 6 out of 16 mentioning Canada. There were no Canadian club sides or CRC teams mentioned.
Southern hemisphere teams (both national and club) were mentioned by 10 out of 16 men and 7 out of 11 young women.
European teams (national and club) were mentioned by 2 out o 11 women and 4 out of 16 men.
Besides Canada the #1 team mentioned were the All Blacks (6 out of 11 women and 5 out of 16 men).
Interesting numbers !! What does that tell us ? Keep in mind that these are some of Canada's premier young up and coming aspiring rugby players .
